Short biography of Abdelaziz Azdoufal

Abdelaziz Azdoufal was born and raised in Frankfurt on the Main. He went to the primary school Ludwig-Weber-Schule and later to the Meister-Schule secondary school in the Sindlingen district of Frankfurt until he was 18. At that point, his parents moved back to Nador / Morocco with the whole family. This is where Abdelaziz Azdoufal got married in 2001, at the age of 21. In 2002 his first child, a daughter, was born.
Abdelaziz Azdoufal’s father migrated to Germany in 1965 at the age of 35 to work. He worked as a truck driver for the German postal service until his retirement in 1994. The very same year he launched a business for spare parts for cars and successfully imported them from Germany to Morocco. For this he made deals with several companies in Germany that guarantee him exclusive rights for Morocco as well as Melilla and Ceuta.
By now it is Mr Azdoufal jr. who is running the business with his siblings. Among the companies that they represent in Morocco are BILSTEIN dampers and chassis, IWIS timing chains and LASO motor parts and water and oil pumps.
Recently, Mr. Azdoufal acquired a new business location in Nador where he will soon (May 2010) open a travel agency as a family business. With this new business idea Mr. Azdoufal combines the experiences he made in Germany with the German mentality and the standards the Germans have for services, as well as his command of the German language. These insights, as well as putting to practice his comparative advantages, distinguish Mr. Azdoufal from other members of the Moroccan Diaspora who have returned to their home country. To realize his dream for him would be to bring European tourists and nature lovers to Nador and its surroundings. He is particularly interested in ecotourism, which isn’t very developed yet in the Northeast of Morocco, but which has a lot of potential in the region.
This is why Mr Azdoufal is also cooperating with the MIDEO project regarding the development of several ecotourism destinations, setting up an ecotourism organization and cross-linking all small-scale entrepreneurs who are active in this sector. He is well aware that as a newcomer to the sector he still has a lot to learn. But even with regard to this he is a quintessential entrepreneur: he has already planned to do internships in German travel agencies before opening his own agency.
His Moroccan roots coupled with his upbringing in Germany and marked entrepreneurial qualities (punctuality, stamina, hard work, planning, and reliability) are his keys to success.
